About ISSRC

More than 90 percent of organizations confront at least one serious information security incident in a given year. As information assets are essential to organizations, information security has become a necessity in the information society. The Information Systems Security Research Center (ISSRC) is established to improve information security management. The aim of the research center is to produce premier research results in the area of information security management in close cooperation with leading international scholars and practitioners. Especially, the research center seeks to put innovative and new research contributions to work in practice. The research center also organizes annual seminars where leading information security management experts give talks on the latest findings in the area of information security management.

The research center is funded by the EU, the city of Oulu, and a number of leading companies: Elektrobit Corp., Elisa Corp., Fortum Corp., F-Secure Corp., Nokia Corp., Outokumpu Oyj, SOK (Suomen Osuuskauppojen Keskuskunta), TVO (Teollisuuden Voima), and STUK (Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority).
